Christmas 2007

Christmas 2007 was a smash for Little Lydia. What a great time had by all! Above and below, Lydia opens her first present, and receives a Cabbage Patch Doll named Camille from Grammy Sue! As can be seen, she loves her "baby" as she calls it. Lydia received many gifts from many people, and was so overwhelmed, parenting wasn't an option. She went crazy and had a great day! This girl is spoiled by her family, and she is loving every minute of it!

Below, Lydia crawls through a giant pile of wrapping paper for about 20 minutes. She Loved it.

Soon I will publish a photo gallery of all the Christmas Pictures! I hope you all had as great a Christmas as Lydia, Suzanne and I had!

Merry Christmas, and the best to you in 2008!

The 2007 Christmas Tree

Unveiling the 2007 Christmas Tree! The process is complete, and the team did a great job for the perfect Christmas Tree. Notice how the bottom picture shows how the tree is a little light on the bottom portion of it with respect to decorations, is there any doubt there is a toddler involved somewhere in this?

Merry Christmas!

Trimming The Tree!!

Time to trim the tree. This is on of the many chapters of "firsts" for Lydia, and she had no problem hanging hre first ornaments. She loved this eperience, and dove right into decking the halls, well at least the tree. Oh and she really loves tinsel. Good Times!!!

The Tree Hunt!

Time to get the 2007 Christmas Tree. Wow! Trying to beat the bad weather, the family packed up, and went out into the 18 degree weather, and traveled to the local Christmas Tree Farm. To liven up the event, we also brought Lydia's brand new sled (an early Christmas present from Grammy Sue). Wow what a great sled. We pulled Lydia around for about 45 minutes and she loved the long ride. Notice the Christmas Tree Farm in the background!

At the bottom, Momma finally found the perfect tree, and Daddy cut through four inches of the finest evergreen ever known. Lydia helps by pointing at what needs to be done! This was Lydia's first snow experience, and she loved it, especially when Daddy through a snowball at Momma

Not Even Winter Yet

I thought I would post some pictures of the pretty winter we are having up here. The weather has been cold, a little too cold, but the snows have been very pretty. Only a few inches on the ground right now, but just enough to whiten things up some! It has been too cold to get Liddy outside to play, but maybe this weekend she will get her first dive into a snowbank!
It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

What a fine day! As tradition has formed, little Lydia was invited to the 2007 Mighty Mart Christmas party, and what an excellent time it was. Over 100 Children joined Lydia in attending this year's event. There was food, dancing and fun for all. Lydia had a great time! She played with Santa seen to the right, and she also scored a great puppy (also seen to the right).

Lydia's First Moo-Moo Milk

If you want to respect a woman, I guess we have to tip our hats to momma here. Three days shy of making 17 months with "Ma...Ma Milk," Lydia had her first taste of Moo-Moo Milk instead. Well, that is not entirely true. Lydia loves yogurt and cheese. But she hasn't had straight unaltered moo-moo milk yet. In betwee4n photos here, I think I heard a "yummy" come from the little one. Mmmm....good times!

A Lesson In Charm

At times, it is important to just stop, even if just for a moment, and admire the simplest things in life. Lean back, relax, smirk with a cute smile and just look at whoever is paying attention. Enjoy the moment, and look cute. It is a guarenteed method to win anyone over. And wella, this is how you charm the adults of this world into getting whatever it is you want. A cute pose like this and a smirk, and blammo...they just hand over money and keys to the car. I wonder if I will remember this approach someday when I am a teenager?

2007 Halloween

Lydia's second Halloween was a smash! The event kicked off with a trip to the Pumpkin Farm, where she covered the whole yard full of pumpkins thoroughly to pick out the 4 best pumpkins available. What a great time. Pop-pop, Nana Kay, Auntie Pam, Momma and Daddy all had a great time as Lydia rummaged through the pumpkin piles, and admired the very best in pumplin sculptures.

Next off to the Cider Mill for cider and donuts. And Yes Lydia was allowed her very first donut! She tended to like it a quite a lot (see photos for reaction). During the trip to the Cider Mill, Lydia also discovered the fun of a cell phone while playing with Auntie Pam!

One week later, Lydia carved her first pumpkin. Ahhh what more of a mess would any parent allow their children to make...willingly? A great effort on Lydia's part. She dug all the gunk out, and pretty much threw it everywhere! The result a fantastic pumpkin seen in the photo album.

Then the dry run of the 2007 Halloween costume. A SMASH in Lydia's eyes. The brightest red lobster one could imagine...an excellent choice by momma. Lydia's first attempt at the costume resulted in tons of laughter for everyone...especially Lydia! Good times for all. She ran around the house screeching like something out of a Japanese Monster Flick. Sounds of Godzilla flooded the house, along with good, strong belly laughs.

Trick or treating consisted of vistis to Grammy Sue and Popa-John's house, Great Gramma's home, Her Aunt Barb and Uncle Jim's home, Teresa and Bill, and of course Auntie Pam and Uncle Jacks house. Then off to Gramma and Grampa's house for an overnight stay.

Once again, this Halloween was a smash with Lydia, and she isn't ready to retire the red lobster outfit just yet!
